Little Talbot Island State Park

A serene display of beauty.

No man is an island, but you might just be content to stay on this one. It’s the perfect idyllic getaway, whether you’re looking for a beach to relax on or a large park with winding nature trails to explore. And there is plenty to discover. The island’s gorgeous coastline stretches on for miles, and is covered in soft firm sand, the perfect place to sink your bare feet into. Walk back up the boardwalk and you’ll eventually hit the maritime forests and salt marshes that are home to a rich diversity of wildlife. Tread carefully, for you are sharing the same space as river otters, bobcats, marsh rabbits and other elusive creatures that call this state park home. If you’re a bird lover, you will be delighted by the endless rotation of native and migratory birds that populate Little Talbot’s skies and trees. But by far one of the most beautiful sights are the white sand dunes located right next to the beach. The texture of the sand is so fine that it practically resembles powder. This delicately pure stretch of white is a blank canvas for the wind to sculpt, as it creates countless mini dunes that are constantly shifting form. It’s the perfect place to have your mind broadened by the beauty of nature.
