Lincoln Park Zoo

More than just a zoo, Lincoln Park incorporates the animals into the city.

Free admission to see a collection of unusual and wonderful animals sounds too good to be true, but Lincoln Park Zoo does indeed deliver on that promise. One of only three major zoos in the country to offer free admission, you can just stroll through the gates on any day of the week without even having to buy a ticket. The zoo itself is practically an artifact: it’s one of the oldest zoos in North America, with exhibits such as the Kovler Lion House and Café Brauer being gorgeous historic landmarks in themselves. Beyond the typical zoo experience, Lincoln offers a wide range of different events every single day, so there’s always something new and exciting in store and every visit is different. These include Garden Tours or Sing Alongs, live bird feedings to polar bear trainings. Each event has a fun and exciting twist: you can sip some wine while interacting with Puerto Rican parrots!

Tips Before You Go
The Christmas Zoolights in December are particularly pretty, so it’s best to make a trip down then! Otherwise, the zoo offers one of the best views of the city all year round from the Nature Boardwalk, and is the perfect wedding venue spot.
