Lillehammer Church

A 19th century church that oozes homely charm.

With its elongated roof appearing to be reaching out to the heavens, this church is a vision by itself. The Lillehammer Church in Lillehammer, Norway, is designed in the Gothic Revival style, fashioned out of red bricks. Completed in the 1880s, the exterior of church you see before you today looks almost the same as it was when it was first built, save for the front doors, which were renovated in the 1950s.

Inside however, many changes have taken place, with the benches, pulpit, and altarpiece amongst the fittings that have undergone renovation. Surrounded by cosy homes and greenery as far as the eyes can see, the Lillehammer Church should be on your list of churches to see when in Norway.
