Lijiang Folk Customs Garden

A blend of culture, art, and food.

Renowned for its unparalleled natural beauty, the Lijiang Folk Customs Garden is located along the Lijiang River and brings together culture, art, food and folklore. The place itself is well known for being charming and peaceful, akin to a fairytale-like garden. The river is perfect for cruising down while absorbing the scenery of the mountains that surround the village. At night, it makes for a romantic setting with the moon reflecting its glowing waters.

You will get an authentic glimpse into the laidback lifestyle that the local people enjoy, and might even spot some water buffaloes being led to their farms. Besides that, you will also get to witness traditional spectacles such as folk dancing and martial arts competitions. Just be wary though as you might be asked to join. While dancing is ok, it might be best not to agree to any sparring matches with strangers you just met.

Tips Before You Go
You could easily spend half a day here, so be sure to set aside enough time for your trip. On that note, the place can get extremely crowded in the first week of October, as that is a national holiday week. As such, it is recommended that you visit on any other day except for that particular week. You won\'t need a tour guide either, as there are English signs here as well.
