Liberty State Park

A park with an array of attractions not only meant for relaxing.

A state park located on Upper New York Bay in Jersey City, the Liberty State Park lies opposite both the Liberty and Ellis Islands. Covering a massive 1,212 acres, this tranquil park is enclosed by water on three sides. Head for the Freedom Way and embark on its many bike paths or explore the Liberty Walkway - a crescent-shaped promenade which is the site of picnic facilities, a playground, the U.S. Flag Plaza and the Liberation Monument.

Alternatively, check out the Liberty Science Center, which is an interactive science museum and learning center with the world's largest IMAX Dome theater. See the Empty Sky, which is the official state memorial to the September 11 attacks on the World Trade Center, where a remnant from this building is laid in the foreground.
