A glorious park that must not be missed while in Warsaw.
A perfect green sanctuary in the middle of Warsaw, the 17th century Łazienki Park spans an immense area of over 74 hectares. Soak in the history and beauty of this gem of Warsaw, much beloved by the locals, especially in the summer. The crown jewel of this park is the elegant Łazienki Palace, which stands majestically in a huge lake. The park is full of surprises, ranging from replicas of ancient monuments to more modern aesthetic icons. Relax under a canopy of shady trees, which is located right next to the Art Nouveau monument of Chopin. While you’re enjoying the shade, perhaps you’d like to whip out your camera and start snapping photos of the magnificent Temple of the Sibyl and the Egytian Temple. If you photoshop it enough, it might even look as if you went on a holiday to Greece and Egypt!
Take a walk around the park and you’ll find all sorts of buildings here as well, although they are no longer in use. The Orangery and amphitheatre are but remnants of the past, and while they may not be in use, you could always pop by inside to take in the sights. With so much to see here, you should be prepared to do a lot of walking. Don’t worry if you get tired though. Maybe you could sip a cup of tea at the restaurants and cafeterias and smell the scent of roses or maybe even have a picnic at selected spots. This lovely park is truly a wonderful place to feel rejuvenated!
