Landmannalaugar

A hike at Landmannalaugar will affirm your believe in the unmatchable beauty of Mother Nature.

Landmannalaugar is an area that is rich with colourful rhyolite mountains, boiling lava fields, hot springs and volcanic craters. Located in Fjallabak, it is most famous for its geothermal hot springs, which is why the place is known as “The People’s Pools”. The many shades of pink, yellow, red and green on the mountains will definitely catch your eye and make you want to whip your camera out! Since Landmannalaugar is a largely uneven terrain, only specially made 4WD vehicles can survive it. You will find hiking trails everywhere, some of them are rather long and physically demanding while others are shorter and less intensive. Regardless of whichever trail you embark on, you will definitely have a great experience looking at the beautiful scenery over here.
