Lake Como

Lake Como is straight out of a Disney movie.

Who hasn’t fallen in love with Lake Como? Its beauty is unparalleled and it captivates the hearts of anyone who comes face to face with it. Such is the charm, and danger of this lake. In the background are the stunning Alps, while on its western bank lies the Santuario Madonna del Soccorso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. And there is also the lush Villa Melzi botanical park to look forward to close to the southern branches of the lake. What’s more, Lake Como possesses rather interesting qualities. First of all, it is the third largest lake in Italy. Despite only being the third largest, it’s also the deepest one in the country, at 1,345 feet. If you’re thinking of having a quick swim, this really isn’t the best place to jump into. When you’re here, make it a point to stay until night time because the reflection of the city lights on the lake’s surface is absolutely terrific!
