Lake Balboa Park

The perfect place to reconnect with nature.

If you’re looking for an interactive and fun experience for your children that goes beyond a passive appreciation of nature, the Lake Balboa Park is for you. Located deep in the heart of the Lake Balboa district, this sprawling parkland offers every recreational activity you could possibly desire—all while being surrounded by the most vibrant nature California has to offer. The park’s centerpiece is of course Lake Balboa itself, which spans 27 acres and stretches far into the horizon. Families of ducks can be found swimming in the shallows near the shores of the lake, an adorable sight that your children will no doubt appreciate. Venture deeper into the park, and you’ll find delicate Japanese cherry blossom trees next to a romantic pavilion. And it doesn’t just stop at the nature: the park also offers barbeque pits, a children’s play area, bicycle paths, a fly fishing area, private boating and just about everything you might need to create a wonderful weekend getaway experience with your family. Here, you can wander around and enjoy life at a slower pace, taking some time away from the busy city life outside the park grounds.
