Lagos de Palermo

What better way to spend your day than to relax at this beautiful lake?

The tranquil expanse of green that is the Lago de Regatas in Palermo is the perfect place to settle down and enjoy a brief respite from the hustle and bustle of the city. One of the biggest parks in the city, the lake covers an area of about twenty-five acres. Initially, the state of the water in the lake was worrying, with an immense mass of aquatic plants covering the surface of the water and inevitably killing marine life in the pond. The resulting stench and disuse of the park had people clamoring for authorities to take action.

Now, the park has manicured lawns, a treasure of vegetation and a reflecting pool with well-defined edges. Naturally, the flourishing ecosystem is a wonder to see, from otters splashing about in the lake to scarlet tanagers fluttering about in the treetops. You might even spot white-eyed parakeets in the park! This lovely park even has outdoor gym equipment for visitors, and you can pack a delicious picnic to sit by the waters and enjoy a meal in peace. Of course, fitness enthusiasts can cycle around the edge of the lake or go for a run. The possibilities are endless at this scenic park.
