Established by the Bernese Artists’ Society in 1918, the Kunsthalle is a contemporary art gallery, treating Bern to works by renown Bernese, Swiss and international artists. The museum carefully arranges and presents its exhibitions, using minimalist interior design to bring out the aesthetics of the displayed works.

Contributions from a myriad of artists like Klee, Giacometti and Nauman, as well as thematic exhibitions such as Harold Szeemann’s “When Attitudes Become Form” grace the museum’s walls. The artworks in the Kunsthalle use vasty different mediums, but share one thing in common: they are artistic renditions of concerns about today’s world. Filled with thought-provoking exhibitions that unflinchingly present today’s most important issues, the Kunsthalle will prompt you to think critically and reflect on questions about culture and society in our world.
