Kualoa Ranch

Where mankind lives in harmony with nature.

Did you know that this attraction was a filming location for Jurassic Park and many other blockbusters? Yet even the movies can’t quite do justice to the magnificent rolling hills and sprawling greenery that the Ranch has to offer. It’s a 4000-acre privately owned nature reserve and functional cattle ranch, with plenty of adventure to go around. The valley of Kualoa was sacred to local Hawaiians from the 13th to the 18th century, with the first taro plant said to have been planted there. This was until American doctor Dr. Gerritt Judd and his descendants bought many acres of ranch land, which would eventually form the Kualoa Ranch of today. Today, it can be anything that you want it to be: a one-stop adventure playground, a journey of self-discovery, or even your chance to privately reenact some epic dinosaur battle scenes. The seventh-generation family enterprise continues to preserve this beautiful oasis and teach visitors about its sacred history, via a series of guided tour options. Traverse the verdant valleys and beaches on horseback, or speed across the broad plains on an all-terrain vehicle. No matter which way you choose to experience it, it’s guaranteed to be awe-inspiring.

Tips Before You Go
Tours of two hours and more are recommended, because it’s hard to compress even the highlights in a shorter span of time. Make sure to ask why there’s a fence around the ‘Godzilla’ footprint.
