What’s a hike to Briksdalsbreen glacier without visiting the Kleivafossen waterfall?

Getting to Kleivafossen isn’t that much of a hassle. It lies on the trail heading towards the Briksdalsbreen, the Jostedal’s glacier arm. As such, many people make it a point to take a break at these falls and soak in the breathtaking view offered to them.


The Kleivafossen is certainly not the largest waterfall you can find in the country but it certainly is one of the most popular, partly due to its convenient location. It is also very powerful, as visitors are treated to refreshing shower when crossing the bridge on their way up to the Briksdalsbreen, signifying the ferocity of the spray this waterfall produces, expectedly so since the water makes a drop of approximately 35 metres.
