Literally translated to “Small Ski Jump”, the Kleine Schanze is a public park located on a small hill near the city centre. With a pond, large patches of fields and filled with shades of lush green, the Kleine Schanze is a great place to relax and people-watch.


The hill was originally the stronghold for city fortifications, but was gradually converted into an English garden over the course of the the 19th century. Over the years, facilities such as a music pavilion, a café, and areas where children can play classic games like Pentanque and chess, making it one of the most.
