Khao Khad Viewpoint

Change your outlook on life for awhile.

Views for days. That’s what you can expect when you make your way to Khao Khad, an elevated point that offers an unblocked 360-degree perspective on southern and eastern Phuket. Although it’s not nearly as well known as busy spots like Cape Promthep or Big Buddha, this only means that there are less people around to jostle with for a prime position. And words really don’t do it justice—from here, you can see the hilly terrain of Phuket as it stretches out towards the sea, covered entirely by trees and greenery. Needless to say, sunsets enjoyed here are spectacular and fill your entire range of vision, turning the endless sky into a canvas of colour. It’s a good place to clear your mind and take a breather from the stress of life down on the ground. With nothing blocking your sight for miles around, you’ll definitely experience an intoxicating sense of freedom and invincibility. It’s like you’re on top of the world. Don’t forget to keep an eye out for certain landmarks, such as the island’s disused cast-tin mines which are now filled with rainwater and serve the municipality as water sources. No matter what you see, it’s definitely a good way to reframe your perspective.
