Kathu Waterfall

Enjoy a water adventure in this little waterfall.

Many have dismissed Kathu Waterfall in the past, claiming that the so-called waterfall is in fact barely a trickle of water. However, for those who are willing to take a closer look, this attraction yields its natural secrets as a reward. Kathu is actually a series of drop pools, which are hidden away on the side of Kao Kamala Mountain. On the first and lowest level of the waterfall, you can already find a large natural pool filled by a strong flow of water cascading over the surrounding rock. You can continue your ascent via a narrow concrete path, that takes you up to the second level. Here you can find local teenagers picnicking and enjoying a natural shower courtesy of the waterfall. If you’re feeling adventurous, you can attempt a scramble to the third and fourth levels with a bit of amateur rock climbing. Although the flow of water has thinned by now, you will be rewarded with denser shade and a more refreshing escape from the many other tourists below. It’s the perfect place to enjoy a cool, quiet moment in the heat of the day.
