Karydi Beach

Along the coast of Sithonia lies an untouched sapphire gem, glittering in the summer haze.

At the very tip of Vourvourou lie the sheltered coasts of Karydi, backed by dense pine forests that provide cover to the beach. Here, the gentle waves of the sea are cupped by the soft, sandy shore. Wade into the shallow waters, so clear that light dances off the sand on the seafloor. A little further and you can dive deep to take in the sight of corals tinted in vibrant shades of red, yellow and blue. Cutting through the waters on a water ski, feeling the spray on your face as your toes curl around a wakeboard; there are endless water sports options for the adventurous as well.

That said, Karydi is a badly kept secret so one word of advice would be to aim for the late afternoon or early morning hours to enjoy the tranquil sea breeze and breathtaking scenery. The endless blue kissing the white Karydi bay is a sight that is sure to remain lingering beneath your lids long after you’ve left.

Tips Before You Go
Another crowd favorite, Karydi is often overflowing with beach towels and umbrellas laid out under the summer sun. It is easily accessible by car however and is still worth a trip timed well.
