Kampung Cai Rancaupas

Meet and greet the gentle deer that call this beautiful forest home.

Take a breather from the warm, humid climate of Java by taking a trip up to Kampung Cai Ranca Upas. The lush forest covers a whopping 215 hectares of land, and is situated 1,700 metres above sea level, making it the perfect peaceful getaway.

The most popular attraction here is undoubtedly the deer conservation centre. Here, you can get up close and personal with the lovable and friendly deer, who love to wander up to humans and give them a welcome sniff. Well, they’re just looking for treats, but it’s nice to think the deer come to say hello. However, to win the hearts of these gentle and elegant creatures, you can buy a bag of vegetables and healthy treats. They’ll all come running once they see the bag, so you’ll have plenty of opportunities for selfies.
