Kampa Park

This public park on Kampa Island is so idyllic, it’s like a piece of paradise.

When the sun comes out and the weather is fine, there’s no better place to be than at Kampa Park. The sprawling park, designed in the style of a carefree English Garden, is a large, welcoming space where everybody can find some enjoyment. Visitors are perfectly welcome to sit on the grass and read a book or do some cloud gazing, while families, pet owners, and fitness enthusiasts get some exercise. It’s the perfect image of an idyllic summer park.

One of the highlights of the park are the gigantic sculptures of babies. Created by controversial Czech sculptor David Cerny, these bronze statues can be found just a short walk away from the beautiful Charles Bridge. They depict giant babies with no facial features except a deep indent, crawling around aimlessly. The sculpture’s meaning is unclear, but it’s definitely a curious must-see during your visit.
