A village from the olden days.
Absorb some old-world charm at the Jeonju Hanok Village. While much of Korea has been influenced by globalization, this village steadfastly holds on to its traditional culture, with more than 800 Hanok houses intact.
The signature look of the houses are its roof edges, which tilt upwards to the sky. Due to the segregation between male and female living quarters in the houses, they are divided into 2 sections – Anchae for the women, and Sarangchae for the men. Interestingly, the houses are built with a heating system for the floor, called ondol, because Koreans usually prefer doing their daily activities, such as eating, on the floor. Don the traditional costume of the Koreans (hanbok) and try out local cuisine such as the Jeonju raw beef bibimbap and Jeonju beansprout soup. An authentic experience, immerse yourself in traditional Korean culture at Jeonju Hanok Village.
