Walk in the footsteps of royalty at the Jardines del Real.
One of Valencia’s largest gardens, the Jardines del Real are a wonder to behold. Built in the 11th century by Arabs, the gardens were originally built for the royal household, once housing a palace and even a zoo within its gates. Today, these splendid gardens are a favourite weekend morning venue among Valencia’s locals, and with so many elegant and beautiful sights, it’s not hard to see why. The Jardines del Real continue to be a natural haven fit for royalty, featuring serene sculptures, romantic floral arches and extravagant fountains.
Listen out for melodious tunes in the summer, when the central esplanade becomes a concert hall. Or, if you’re visiting in the spring, don’t miss out on your chance to grab a few new books during the Feria del Libro.
