Jardines de Santa Clotilde (Santa Clotilde Gardens)

Admire the pristine beach at Jardines de Santa Clotilde.

Not many gardens are quite like the Jardines de Santa Clotilde (Santa Clotilde Gardens), simply because none of them overlooks the sea like this one does. Located on top of a cliff in Lloret de Mar, Barcelona, this garden offers a spectacular sea-view when you look across the horizon. Built in the early 20th century, this Renaissance-inspired garden provides access to Santa Christina beach for those who would like to relax by the sea.

Within the garden, there are neoclassical marble sculptures for visitors to view and admire; with one in particular standing out. Visitors should definitely not miss out on the unique showcase of mermaid statues created by Maria Llimona i Benet (1894-1985), the daughter of prolific sculptor Josep Llimona i Bruguera (1864 – 1934). As this garden is not massive, visitors can take some time out from the beach to enjoy the lush greenery and quiet ambience here.

Tips Before You Go
The gardens are a lovely place to retreat to when you\'ve had enough of large crowds. Getting there is another question however, as you will need to make a steep climb uphill. As such, it might not be the best place for someone with walking difficulties.
