Havana’s garden oasis.
Spread over 600 hectares of lush green vegetation, exotic flora, and a vivid array of colourful flowers, the beautiful Jardin Botanico Nacional is a remote, out-of-city attraction situated near the vibrant city of Havana, Cuba. Officially opened in 1984, the massive garden is well-known for its extensive and varied collection of more than 4,000 species of plants and trees, both native to Cuba and around the world.
A horticulturalist’s and nature lover’s paradise, highlights of the Jardin Botanico Nacional include the tranquil Japanese Garden, the collection of 250 species of palm trees, as well as the various ethnic botanical mini gardens on display. Multilingual guided tours depart for an epic journey around the expansive garden four times a day, on a charming mini train ride suitable for visitors of all ages. A rustic, vegetarian restaurant (El Bambu) serves an excellent daily buffet to visitors and is situated on the park grounds.
