Geneva’s first English garden.
Looking at this pristine garden, you will be forgiven for assuming you are somewhere in England. In actual fact, the Jardin Anglais rests in Geneva, Switzerland. Literally translating to mean English Garden, this urban park was formed in the 1850s. This makes it the first English-style garden to exist in the city, enchanting you with its winding paths and rotundas. The smell of fresh grass and the lush greenery of the trees are indeed a sight for sore eyes. Don’t forget to check out the massive bronze fountain, creating a great backdrop for a photo with its artistic design. The crowning glory is perhaps the L'horloge fleurie, a clock crafted out of planted flowers. More than 6500 plants are used to make the clock, and the plants used change according to the seasons.
