James A. Farley Post Office

Do you still believe in Santa?

Built in 1912, the James A. Farley Post Office was named after Postmaster General James Farley who was a politician that was said to be responsible for helping Roosevelt rise to presidency. The post office was made famous by the Christmas movie, “Miracle on 34th Street", and is where the first response for "Operation Santa Claus" was made. The initiative blesses needy children who write their requests to Santa and even distributes gifts to children living in remote parts of Alaska, making it very much like a real-life Santa's workshop!
