Marvel at the two jade Buddha statues brought to Shanghai from Burma by sea.
Located in Shanghai, the Jade Buddha Temple was founded in 1882 and is home to the two famous Burmese jade Buddha statues. Look out for an even bigger reclining Buddha made of fine marble, donated from Singapore. Enter the Chamber of Four Heavenly Kings and be awed by the statues of Maitreya, Skanda, and the Four Heavenly Kings, who represent good fortune. More treasure awaits you at the Grand Hall. Be amazed by the Three Golden Buddhas: the Buddha stands in the middle while the left is Amitabha and the right is Bhaisajyaguru. Let your eyes be dazzled by the Gods of the Twenty Heavens, covered in glittering gold and the 18 golden arhats. Do not leave without satiating your hunger in the temple's restaurant with its variety of tasty noodles.
