Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena

Capable of hosting any event under the sun.

The 15,000 seats of this enormous arena are regularly filled by people eager to watch their favourite sports team, singer, performance and show display their talents in person. Wielding cutting-edge technology and the latest design techniques available, the architects behind this modern marvel have put their heads together to create an acoustically sensational arena to let the best of the best in every performance shine through.

The arena’s very first performer was the Elton John, and that’s all that it needed to propel it to international standing in the world of performance halls. Since then, all genres of musical performers from rap to jazz to country to tap to dance have graced this arena with their presence. The arena is flexible enough to transform into the ideal arena for sports as well, including the 2004 Men’s Olympic Basketball game, several NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournaments, and the Davis cup. Another big break came when the Jacksonville Sharks awarded them with the honour of being their official home in 2010.

Further telling of its multi-purpose nature, the arena’s outdoor art entitled “talking continents” by Jaume Plensa, comprising of six separate fibreglass figures which are lit up in coordinated timings, are an enchanting addition to the arena;s image. They also hold the deeper artistic meaning of representing the arena’s ethos as a meeting place for people to interact and have meaningful conversation, reflected in the way the figures are “communicating” through rhythmically appearing coloured lights.
