Jackie Gleason Theater of Performing Arts

This theatre has been the lucky audience to some of the greatest acts in human history.

The Jackson Gleason Theatre was put on the map when the comedian that it commemorates in its tile performed for Frank Sinatra and his crew in this very room in 1964. He fell in love with the Miami audience, and agreed to make the theatre the permanent filming studio for his TV show. That very same year, it had already been deemed worthy to host the legendary Miss Universe and Miss USA pageants, and also went on to be the prime venue for a series of iconic broadway shows including the much talked about West Side Story. The theatre then progressed into theatrical performances and musicals, most notable of which include Phantom of the Opera and the Riverdance, both sensations of the 90s, and also played host to concert singers Lenny KRavitz, Liza Minelli and Seal.

In 2007, the theatre underwent a multi-million dollar transformation into the theatre we know and love today, with plush red chairs, a grand stage, and state of the art lighting and audio equipment. Since then, it has been the much sought after location for a multitude of popular and celebrated artists including The Weeknd, Lily Allen, Lana Del Rey, Fall Out Boy and Sting, making it the busiest performance venue in the South. The theatre prides itself on preserving the memories of the history making performances that graced its stage, while presenting us with the latest up and coming talents. So get online, choose the performance you’ve always longed to see, and get the full Jackson Gleason theatre experience!
