Budapest, Hungary
Hungarian Natural History Museum

For all you nature lovers.

Located at the old building of the Ludovika Military Academy, the Hungarian Natural History Museum houses specimens from the Carpathian Basin, including minerals typically found in Hungary. The rocks you see at the entrance aren’t haphazardly put together, no matter what you might suspect. They are from different parts of Hungary, and definitely makes you wonder about the vast beauty of Mother Nature, for the rocks (exhibited in order of formation) depict millions of years of geological history.

You can enjoy a breathtaking coral reef diorama, or gaze up at the huge whale skeleton. There’s plenty of fossils to marvel at, and plenty of creepy crawlies for you to cringe at (or squeal at, whatever you like). Don’t get lost in the fascinating collections within the museum for adventure waits just outside as well. There is a Dinosaur Garden outside, and your kids will definitely be thrilled to jump around these dinosaurs and imagine they were living in the age when these fascinating creatures roamed the Earth. If you’re in Budapest and not sure what to do next, why not head down to the Natural History Museum?
