Huka Falls

New Zealand’s most visited natural attraction.

Witness the mighty Huka Falls as it roars and crashes down 11 metres into the turbulent pool below, onto the Waikato River. With an impressive flowrate of 220,000 litres of water per second, visitors will surely be left in awe. Follow the track leading up to the falls by embarking on the Huka Falls Trail, a simple hour-long hike that starts when the water is still lazy and placid. The hike brings visitors to several vantage points, where they can capture some gorgeous photographs of the falls. The foot bridge right at the top of the Huka Falls also gives visitors the perfect position to witness the falls up close and personal. Alternatively, take a jet boat ride near the base to truly witness the mighty Huka Falls!

Tips Before You Go
Bring plenty of water along with you, and remember to wear comfortable shoes too. Although the trail is a fairly simple walk, there are moments when the terrain can be a bit uncompromising. Be sure to bring along some food too, as there’s only one shop selling food at the other end of the trail and it has very limited choices.
