Sasebo, Japan
Huis Ten Bosch (ハウステンボス)

Surprise! Surprise! See a slice of a medieval Dutch town right here in Nagasaki.

Literally translated from Dutch as ‘House in the Woods’, Huis Ten Bosch is a theme park in Sasebo, Nagasaki, Japan. The location is a reflection of Dutch-Japanese historical ties which started in 1609 when a trading post was established in Hirado, near Sasebo. An amazing re-creation of a 17th-century Dutch town, be impressed by the authentic-looking Dutch-style homes and buildings such as villas and museums.

Reminiscent of Amsterdam, one can see windmills along with shops and restaurants lining the canals. Children will love the amusement rides, while a fun cruise on the pirate ship from the wildly popular ‘One Piece’ should not be missed. Nature lovers will appreciate the pretty tulips amidst the verdant forests on Hario Island in which Huis Ten Bosch lies. Peek into the Henna Hotel (Strange Hotel) which is the first hotel in the world to be staffed by both robots and humans.
