Horta Museum

Dedicated to the one and only Victor Horta.

Victor Horta – designer, architect, visionary. Dedicated to this great man, the Horta Museum lies in his house and studio, two typical Art Nouveau styled buildings completed in 1901. A UNESCO World Heritage site, the interiors of this cherished home have been preserved as far as possible, giving you a better feel of the way he lived and worked.

Lovely stained glass, mosaics, and decorations meld together to form beautifully composed settings. A designer who was all about the little things, look out for the details on elements such as the staircases, tables and even the handles! Not to be missed, the centrepiece of the house is the spiral staircase. Embellished with intricate gold designs, marbled stairs and beautifully carved banisters, this is a piece of art by itself! While the museum hosts temporary exhibitions about the fine art of architecture from time to time, there is a library you can visit to learn all about Art Nouveau. Head down to the Horta Museum in Brussels and get exposed to this interesting architectural style.
