Hopkins Falls

Feel the mist of the Hopkins Falls as it plunges down into the Hopkins River.

Measuring 90m wide and plummeting 12m, the Hopkins Falls is the largest falls in the Hopkins River. Hopkins Falls is easily accessible by car, being only 15 km away from the town of Warrnambool. There are two viewing platforms overlooking the falls and a third platform below, where visitors can get their Instagram-worthy shots taken. The area above the falls is also a favorite spot for people to have their picnics and barbeques.

Perhaps the most interesting time to visit is winter, where the water volume of the falls will be at its largest. Visitors would also be able to spot baby eels hopping around the rocky ledges, as the Hopkins River is an important waterway for eels during the winter migration.
