A lush English country-like park in the middle of Rotterdam.
Designed by Dutch architect Jan David Zocher Jr., the Het Park is located between the Westzeedijk and the river Maas. Inspired by the principles of the English landscape style, the Het Park incorporates many English features in this otherwise Dutch park, making it truly unique.
Also known as ‘the park with no name’ or more commonly as ‘The Park’, locals cherish this city park for its lush greenery and serene environment. Having been part of this teeming city since 1852, the Het Park has a host of permanent occupants it gives refuge to - sprawling green fields, fluffy shrubs, flowers of all kinds, fluttering butterflies, and tall, vibrant trees. The park also is home to one of Rotterdam’s oldest trees, truly a timeless sight to behold.
Take a pleasant stroll through the park and indulge yourself in the tranquil atmosphere the park has to offer. Of course, you would be treating yourself to a magical experience should you visit the park in the fall, with the park displaying a riot of colours and lending itself to a spectacular sight. It is no wonder that this park is constantly sought after by city dwellers and visitors alike.
