Hermosa Beach Pier

The Southern California beach life.

Extending into the Pacific Ocean, the Hermosa Beach Pier overlooks the scenic Santa Monica Bay and is an ideal place to soak in the Southern California beach vibes whilst in the area. Originally made of wood, the pier’s frontage has changed over the years and is now constructed of concrete and paved with asphalt, making for a popular modern hangout spot for locals and tourists alike with its variety of restaurants and bars, as well as engaging facilities such as volleyball courts and bike rental shops.

Take a leisurely stroll down the pier and admire the metal plaques that decorate the pathway, paying homage to surfers as well as pioneers and supporters of the sport along Hermosa’s surfers walk of fame. Alternatively, spend a lazy afternoon people watching or observing the locals fish off the end of the pier, and just sit back, relax, and bask in the warm ocean breeze off the bay. With one of the nicest and cleanest beaches situated close to the city, the Hermosa Beach Pier offers all visitors a fun and memorable day at the beach. Fun fact: the pier was featured in the critically acclaimed 2016 movie, La La Land!
