Celebrate the richness of Moroccan culture at the Heritage Museum.
Providing a splendid overview of Moroccan history and culture, the Heritage Museum in Marrakesh was built by the Alouani Bibi family and is a great pride in their heritage. It lovingly showcases artefacts such as costumes and trinkets, tracing Morocco’s history all the way back to its time in the Roman Empire.
The museum is filled with the richness of Moroccan art and culture. Its ornate, oriental artistic style is proudly incorporated into all aspects of the museum. Beautiful patterns are painted onto arches and carved into doors. Twisting, elegant lines stand out proudly on metalwork, featuring prominently on gold containers and silver jewellery. Minority groups are not forgotten either, with tribal Berber costumes and textiles placed alongside Jewish artefacts. On the rooftop, the Zellij Terrace is sumptuously decorated with colourful Zellij tiles – traditional Moroccan tiles. The Zellij Terrace offers stunning views of the medina, where visitors can enjoy a cup of mint tea while admiring the Marrakesh Medina and majestic Atlas Mountains.
Only a 5-minute walk from Jemaa El-Fna, Marrakech’s main square, you are bound not to miss this top Marrakesh tourist attraction.
