Hellabrunn Zoo (Münchener Tierpark Hellabrunn)

A zoo popular with children and adults alike.

Occupying a vast area of 99 acres, the Hellabrunn Zoo (Münchener Tierpark Hellabrunn) is situated in the Bavarian capital of Munich. Opened to the public in 1911, the zoo was designed by the architect Emanuel von Seidl. Fed by good quality groundwater from the River Isar, many of the animals in the zoo are uncaged and they roam almost freely in enclosures. This zoo is also actively involved in the conservation and breeding of rare species of animals such as the silvery gibbons.

Visit the aquarium and watch the feeding of the piranha or for the intrepid, take a walk in ‘Dracula's villa’ and experience the thrill of having bats fly all around you. Overall, this is a lovely place that is suitable for both kids and adults, as everyone would certainly be fascinated by the wide variety of animal species, coupled with plenty of spots to sit, explore, and enjoy a relaxing day out with your loved ones.
