Hazards Beach

A secluded beach for explorers and those looking to surround themselves with quietness.

A hiking trail from Wineglass Bay will take you to Hazards Beach, which rests at the foot of the majestic Hazards mountains. Surrounded by stunning mountains on one side and the ocean on another, Hazards beach is a remote and peaceful spot hidden from the tourist crowds – a hidden gem for those who make the trip to find it.

Here, you will be treated to a pristine stretch of sand flanked by large boulders and branches of driftwood, undisturbed by the shrieks of children and the chatter of adults. Explore the rock pools teeming with marine life and find yourself a little starfish, some hermit crabs and water snails hiding underneath the rocks. You can also perch yourself on one of the boulders and watch the waves, or jump into the mesmerising sea before you for a relaxing swim.

Tips Before You Go
Instead of hiking to the beach, fly there by a sea plane during the summer for a bird’s eye view of the Freycinet peninsula. An unforgettable experience it will be!
