Haulover Inlet

Explore this man-made channel.

The Haulover Inlet, otherwise known as Baker’s Haulover Inlet, connects the northern end of Biscayne Bay with the Atlantic Ocean. Some find the place so divine that they want to keep it a secret. Certainly, while Miami Beach might sound familiar, does Haulover’s Inlet ring any bells? Well, now that we have divulged the secret, don’t hold back and make your way to the inlet.

It is particularly a haven for boaters, and you can drop anchor at the sandbar before diving into the inviting waters. There’s just so much to do here, from kite-flying to simply sinking your toes in the sand and walking along the shoreline as the waves lap at your feet. If you’re an avid fisherman (or woman), the area is also considered one of the best to go deep sea fishing. When your stomach rumbles, settle down for a picnic or grill some mouth-watering food, and gaze out at the sea as you settle down on the sand. Don’t miss out on this lovely place while in Florida!

Tips Before You Go
Do note that a section of the beach is an official naturist beach, so do be aware about which section of the beach you head to. There are strong currents and constant shoaling near the jetties, so do be cautious.
