Harz National Park (Nationalpark Harz)

Take a walk through the Harz National Park where according to legend, witches used to roam.

The Harz National Park is a nature reserve nestled within Germany's most northerly mountain range in the federal states of Lower Saxony and Saxony-Anhalt. An enchanting forest steeped in ancient Teutonic myths where tales of witches abound, the mysterious Mount Brocken is perpetually shrouded in mist.

Standing at a height of 1132m, the enigmatic moors of Brocken lures one to explore and admire its rugged scenery or pump up your adrenaline by biking on its steep slopes, stony tracks and narrow trails. There are several eateries at Brocken, as well as a museum that entails the history of the Harz. For animal lovers, there is abundant wildlife in this park such as the red deer, woodpecker and wildcat. One of the highlights is to watch the lynxes being fed. A great place to wind down and simply be close to Mother Nature.
