Harpa

Harpa is a fine example of a structure that marries the beauty of nature with contemporary style.

The Harpa Concert Hall and Conference Centre is Iceland’s latest iconic building. Strategically located by Reykjavik’s old harbour, its sparkling exterior reflects both the calm sea and the hustle and bustle of the city. This wonderful design is a product of collaboration between Danish architectural firm Henning Larsen Architects and local firm Batteríið Architects. The centre consists of four halls, with the largest one out of the four having the capacity to accommodate 1,800 seated guests. That should be what interests you most however. Well, apart from concert halls, the centre also houses smaller meeting rooms for corporate events, but unless you’re on a business trip, then the odds of you even entering these rooms are minimal at best. Regardless, Harpa is way too enchanting to be missed!

Tips Before You Go
Harpa does not set a strict dress code for its concert patrons. However, we advise you to dress smartly, as that is proper etiquette for attending concerts at such posh venues. Using your mobile devices or cameras to record videos is typically frowned upon, just like taking pictures is, as it could distract and disrupt the performers’ concentration. Refrain from doing so and show your appreciation for the performance with a rousing round of applause instead.
