Hapuna Beach State Park

Bask in the sun at one of Hawaii’s finest beaches.

Hapuna Beach State Park is the biggest white sand beach on Big Island, and is consistently voted as one of the top beaches in the world for good reason. This is a prime family beach, and fun is guaranteed for all ages. If swimming is a little too mainstream for you, try body boarding. Why not let your adventurous nature take over and try boogie boarding? (That is, body boarding, for the uninitiated.) Of course, if you’re only here to soak in some glorious sun, you can opt to sunbathe on the white sandy shores.

Snorkeling is another favourite, with especially good conditions in the morning. Cornet fish, sea urchins and turtles are just a few of the fish and creatures you might spot in the water. If you’re lucky, you might catch sight of migrating whales in the distance! When your stomach starts to rumble, there are plenty of options for refreshment, and you won’t stay hungry with the wide selection of delicious food. Your trip to Big Island isn’t complete until you’ve set foot on the Hapuna Beach State Park!
