HangarBicocca

A former factory turned into an art exhibition.

While it is currently a place for contemporary art exhibitions, the HangarBicocca used to be a Pirelli factory before being converted. Located in the Bicocca district of Milan and covering 10,900 square metres of space, it was transformed into an exhibition gallery in 2012. This site has hosted plenty of temporary exhibitions, displaying works of contemporary artists like Marina Abramović (born 1946), Laure Prouvost (born 1978) and Apichatpong Weerasethakul (born 1970), amongst others. However, there is a permanent exhibit located at the HangarBicocca, which is The Seven Heavenly Palaces by Anselm Kiefer (born 1945).
