Haneul Park

Be on top of the world at the picturesque Hanuel Park!

The breathtaking Haneul Park in Seoul truly takes the beauty of nature to a whole new level. The park definitely lives up to its name, which is translated to “sky” in English. Built to commemorate the 17th FIFA World Cup, Haneul Park sits on the highest point of World Cup Park, offering a beautiful bird’s eye view of Seoul and its landmarks.

The park was once a peanut and sorghum plantation, which then became a wasteland in 1993. Thankfully, efforts made by the Seoul Metropolitan Government resulted in this gem today, filled with many activities for visitors to enjoy. Take an exhilarating climb up the 291 stairs on the hiking trail for picturesque views over Seoul or enjoy a relaxing stroll along the pastures covered with wildflowers and eulalia grass. As you walk, enjoy the company of over 30,000 butterfly species, which were introduced in 2000 to stabilise the ecosystem.
