Diversity and inclusion – themes that are ever present here.

The Hammer Museum is a unique art museum and cultural center that seeks to embrace the impact art has on our lives, and to appreciate what might have otherwise been overlooked in our eagerness to appreciate the greatest works of art. Originally founded in 1990 to house the personal collection of Armand Hammer, the museum’s critically acclaimed exhibitions display a collection of works that are less-known, as well as those by emerging contemporary artists.

Do you want more than gazing at the artworks? Well, the Hammer Museum offers an impressive range of activities, which are open to the public six evenings every week. You can sit in for lectures and readings, or even symposia. If those sound a little too uneventful, there are even film screenings and musical performances to thrill your senses here at the museum. When you need to take a break, you can even try out table tennis at the Sound Piece for the Hammer Museum, or head to the quaint café with its relaxing atmosphere that is aesthetic in its own right.
