Ham Rong Mountains

A mountain shaped like a dragon’s head.

Home to an extensive variety of exotic flora and fauna, Ham Rong (Dragon Jaw) Mountain is one of the natural delights of the Sapa region. With over 6,000 orchids, interesting native plant species such as the Lily of the Nile and ox-eyed daisy, as well as juicy mountain fruits such as peaches and pears, the mountain calls to nature enthusiasts looking to immerse themselves in beautiful mother nature. Best of all, Ham Rong Mountain is ideally located just adjacent to Sapa town and takes only a couple of minutes to get to from Sapa church.

Hiking enthusiasts will delight in the challenge of conquering San May (Cloud Yard), the peak of the 1800-metre tall Ham Rong Mountain. Once at the top, visitors are rewarded with stunning, panoramic views of Sapa and the surrounding landscape from this amazing vantage point. On sunny days, tourists can see for miles on end, including to the peak of Fansipan, which makes for an impressive sight.
