Haigeng Park (海埂公园)

A park for parking your worries behind.

The hanging leaves of the willow trees, found in the green field of voluptuous, supple grass, rock in a tender sway to the caresses of the gentle winds that travel further to brush the placid lake’s waters before finally leaving the park for the open ocean. Children and adults, alike, wear relaxed, calm expression as they heed the winds’ directions from the viewing platform, and look out to the sea crowded with seagulls, watching an aspect of natural life uncommon to even to the most vigilant of eyes in the daily living of urban living. Amongst the flapping wings over green waters, sometimes there is something pink; a colour that is out of place. Driven by curiosity to study the surroundings better, the children are quick to identify that the pink had come from the plum blossom trees’ petals in the vicinity that might have tangoed with the winds, drifted in its carriage and landing into the sea. Of nature’s green and blue, a restful ambience is created to be indulged in fully and let slip the weariness of the day.
