A large urban park in the heart of Christchurch.

Renowned for its 165 hectares of space, Hagley Park is the largest urban open space in Christchurch. It is the most significant park in the city, and offers tons of activities to visitors. The park has facilities for sports like golf, netball and tennis, and other activities are also available on hand! Popular activities for families include picnics and barbeques, with barbecue pits conveniently located on-site. Tracks and pathways go around the park too, linking it with the city cycle networks. The Christchurch Botanic Gardens is also located here, where visitors can go and see the large collection of flowers and trees from all over the world.

Tips Before You Go
Do take note that the park has fireworks on special occasions such as New Year’s Day, which tends to attract large crowds. However, very few people come here on a daily basis, which provides for a very tranquil atmosphere here. Don’t forget to feed the ducks if you drop by for a visit!
