Go for a journey back in time to the Silla Dynasty!

Home to numerous historical artefacts from the Silla Dynasty, the Gyeongju National Museum provides an enriching experience for all wanting to learn more about the history of Korea! This cultural centre contains over 80,000 weapons, jewellery and other artefacts spread across four unique exhibitions, providing visitors with a perfectly-preserved wealth of knowledge about the lifestyle and culture of the Silla Dynasty.


Enter a world of precious relics found throughout Gyeongju and in the Cheonmachong and Hwangnamdaechong tombs at the Archeology Hall, or marvel at the glistening bronze Buddhist sculptures and replicas of the Silla Buddhist temples at the Art Hall. The grand exhibition at Wolji Hall is home to numerous invaluable artefacts retrieved from the Wolji Pond, showcasing the luxurious lifestyle of Silla royalty. Don’t forget to end off with a visit to the outdoor grounds of the museum, which proudly houses two of Korea’s national treasures - the Goseonsaji Stone Pagoda as well as the Divine Bell of King Seongdeok the Great, whose ringing can supposedly be heard over a 3km radius!

Tips Before You Go
If you often find yourself wandering aimlessly through museums, this museum provides multilingual audio guides, which will ensure a fulfilling experience. Tours of the museum are also regularly conducted, and typically last for 1-1.5 hours. Do contact the museum to enquire about its tour schedule and to make sure none of the exhibitions you would like to view are closed for maintenance.
