Guvano Beach

Cinque Terre’s legendary naturist beach.

Difficult to get to but with an immensely rewarding payoff vis-à-vis an unspoiled, secluded pebbled beach and stunning views of the surrounding turquoise water and Mediterranean flora, Guvano Beach is a gem of a beach within the charming and beautiful village of Corniglia in Cinque Terre. Specifically for adults because of its small size and naturist purpose, visitors are free to walk around or lounge on the beach in their freest form – butt naked. Young, wild, and free it is.

Perfect for the bold and the brave, the journey to Guvano Beach is an adventure in itself. Visitors can access the gorgeous beach via two options: through a dark and narrow tunnel to the beach, or the Blue Trail from the lovely village of Vernazza in Cinque Terre. Unfortunately, the Blue Trail is inaccessible as of 2018 due to landslides and visitors are strongly advised not to use this option to get to Guvano Beach. Instead, visitors can walk through the tunnel from the Corniglia train station to get to the isolated and remote beach of Guvano. From the train station, turn left and follow the road for about 300-metres till you see the steep stairwell that leads up to Corniglia village. Thank your lucky stars because you do not have to climb up the steep series of steps, instead, descend down a path to your right towards the abandoned railroad tunnel and begin your journey to the lovely oasis of Guvano Beach.
